Contus - the ecosystem expands

In the autumn of 2022, we launched our Contus trunking system. Efficient, flexible, easy to maintain and featuring best in class installation time. It’s well suited to industrial applications including manufacturing and logistics, but it’s just as beneficial for retail projects which share similar goals and challenges.

While the Contus trunking system is itself a continuous row-lighting system that can provide optimal linear illuminance for your project – it’s taken to a whole new level when you consider the other opportunities it presents. Cue the ever expanding ecosystem.

Graffiti was introduced last year. The high quality spotlight with excellent optical precision, glare control and integrated driver has a clean aesthetic. Its 95mm body (in black or white) can be easily mounted onto the Contus trunking system (as well as a three phase track). Since then, we’ve already seen it installed in retail stores around the world, all of whom benefit from the solution’s adaptability.

We then ensured Contus was suitable for use with Aquaforce Pro, our best-selling waterproof batten – further strengthening its proposition for industrial usage – especially in warehouses, workshops and parking areas. We also configured three of our Voyager emergency lighting luminaires (Blade2, Style and One).

To build on that, we’ve now introduced more products for use on Contus. The ecosystem of compatible luminaires now expands to include: HiPak,  Glacier and IQ Wave SP.

But what are the advantages of using these existing luminaires with Contus?

For HiPak (used most often in manufacturing, warehouse and logistics spaces), flexibility is increased, and lighting can be moved or changed to suit the needs of the site. It’s ready to install straight from the box, requires no electrical or mechanical fixing and is easily installed onto Contus trunking in two lever clicks. This can be achieved by non-skilled personnel, saving on labour costs. As Contus can form part of a facility’s electrical infrastructure, integrated emergency battery options are also possible, as well as PIR sensors for enhanced energy management.

When it comes to the retail application, Glacier on Contus is a great choice for attractive pendant lighting that can help create a comfortable ambiance, encouraging a longer dwell time and increased spend. With the trunking system already in place, installation can be completed in minutes by non-skilled personnel if required.

The final addition to the Contus ecosystem for the first launch window in 2024 is IQ Wave Suspended. It offers a whole host of benefits for education and office settings from flexible controls, cutting edge optics to easy installation. When used with the Contus trunking system, spaces become future-proofed. Luminaires can also be installed in continuous runs without additional fixing brackets or alignments.
